- 09.27.07 - Milford High Senior organizes Computer Care with an assist from WorldBand (Milford Daily News) A.J. Bruce, 17, wants to send 25 computers which would otherwise be trash from Milford High to children in the Dominican Republic. "It's a win-win situation," she said of her project.
WorldBand is playing a part: Rob Bonnell, the owner of WorldBand Communications Inc. in Milford, said he would cover the shipping costs. Bonnell said he would donate at least 10 more computers as well. He said he does not know how much it would cost at this point, but was confident he could handle the price. "I try to do whatever I can to help out the town," Bonnell said. "The town has always been good to me." Bonnell said he found out about the project because his company provides information technology support to the school system. "I'm proud of her," he said. "To see a kid take some initiative is great. We need more of that from this generation."
